There is a deliberate attempt to corrupt messages emaning from the Commission.

As the nation prepares for the 2011 general elections, the number one umpire has raised an alarm, stating that there is a deliberate attempt to corrupt and colour messages in the media coming out of the Election Management Body [EMB].
This alarm was raised by the INEC Chairman Professor Maurice Iwu when a delegation of the Centre For Peace Building And Socio-Economic Resources Development [CEPSERD] led by its Executive Director, Ayokunle Fagbemi visited the Commission

“As we prepare for the 2011 elections, there is an attempt to corrupt messages coming out of the Election Management Body” [EMB] he lamented.
Professor Iwu regretted a situation where considered and well thought out suggestions made by the Commission on how to reform the electoral system and other vital messages were being deliberately distorted by some sections of the media.
