Voters for by- elections who have not collected their Permanent voters card can use their tempoary cards
The Chairman of the Independent National ElectoralCommission, Prof. Maurice Iwu, has stated that those registered
voters who have not collected their permanent voters’ card in
Kogi State and every other state where bye-election would be held
are free to use their temporary voters’ cards to vote during the
forthcoming by-elections nationwide.
Prof. Iwu made this remark while interacting with Resident
Electoral Commissioners from the 36 states and FCT yesterday in
Abuja.
The INEC Boss further noted that the continuous voters’
registration exercise will have to be suspended in areas where by-
elections would be held two weeks before the date of election.
He assured the Political Parties and contestants that there would
be a level playing ground for all contestants in the coming by-
elections.
Meanwhile, Resident Electoral Commissioners have been
redeployed.
